Sony still hasn't shut down or sold its mobile division, as recently rumored, but its phone events are definitely getting less glamourous. On Monday, the company announced a new flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z4, but only in Japan
For comparison, Sony launched its last flagship, the Xperia Z3, at an event during the IFA 2014 conference, held in Sept. 2014 in Berlin. It's possible that Sony plans a separate, global launch for the Z4, but spilling the beans like this will definitely kill much of the anticipation buzz about this model

It is a direct successor to the Z3 — with the same 5.2-inch, 1080p screen, 20.7-megapixel camera, and a very similar metallic/glass designThe biggest upgrade is the front camera, which is now a 25mm, wide-angle, 5.1-megapixel one.
