Pilot arrested at Heathrow on suspicion of carrying knives in hand luggage

LONDON — A pilot who was allegedly carrying knives in his hand luggage has been arrested at Heathrow Airport.

The pilot of Cathay Pacific's Flight CX254 was stopped at a staff search area before boarding the plane, which was scheduled to fly 262 passengers from London to Hong Kong at 10:20 p.m. BST on Saturday, according to a report in The Guardian

The man, who is believed to be 61, was taken to a local police station and has since been released on bail until next month.

Because of the pilot's arrest the flight was delayed until the next day, departing Sunday at 2:47 p.m. BST and arriving in Hong Kong at 9:31 a.m. BST, according to the South China Morning Post Read more...
