South Africa Detains Man After Finding 21 Pieces Of Female Genitalia In His Freezer

A Danish man has been charged with sexual assault, intimidation, and breaking medical laws in South Africa after authorities found 21 pieces of female genitalia stored in his freezer, the Associated Press reported.

The 63-year-old man appeared in a South African court on Monday and has yet to enter a plea. Officers described the body parts as trophies of his mutilation.

He was identified by Danish tabloid BT as Peter Frederiksen, who is wanted in Denmark on weapons charges. Since fleeing Denmark to avoid trial, he opened a gun shop in South Africa.

According to BT, Frederiksen spoke openly with a photographer about his experience performing female circumcision surgeries, including on his wife. He claimed to have learned from Jorn Ege, a controversial plastic surgeon nicknamed Dr. Penis.

It was the wife who reported him to police, according to the AP.

Frederiksen denied the allegations to Ekstra Bladet, another Danish tabloid.

Police said Frederiksen lured his victims from the neighboring country of Lesotho before performing the illegal surgeries, Reuters reported. His motives — and whether the women are alive or dead — remain under investigation.
