A man is in custody after allegedly injuring three people, including a pastor and baby, in a shooting at a church in Selma, Alabama, on Sunday morning, according to reports.
Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson told the Associated Press that the suspect, James Minter, shot his girlfriend, her newborn baby, and the pastor of the Oasis Tabernacle Church in East Selma.
A spokesperson for the Selma Police Department confirmed to BuzzFeed News that the shooting occurred around 10:30 a.m. local time, but did not immediately provide further information.
Jackson, who did not immediately respond to a request for comment, told the AP the woman had been shot in the face.
Jackson said the shooting was related to domestic issues between the shooter and his girlfriend, who are said to be both black. The church pastor is white.
The AP reported the three victims had been hospitalized, but their condition was not immediately known.
Selma was the site of the 1965 civil rights march organized by Martin Luther King Jr., in which African Americans protesting for voting rights in the South were beaten by local police.
