The gunman who killed two people in a Louisiana movie theater ranted about liberals, Fox News, and how America had become "filth" in a notebook released Wednesday by authorities.

John Russell Houser, 59, killed two people and injured nine others, before turning the gun on himself at The Grand Theater on July 23. On Wednesday, Lafayette police released public documents related to their investigation, including a 589-page final report, photographs, and Houser's handwritten notebook.

Scribbled across 40 pages were political rants, lists of his favorite songs and movies, and his distaste for most aspects of American society.

"The truth is only known when all are heard," he began. Under the heading "Random Thoughts," he wrote:

"America is a filth farm...If you have not stood against the filth, you are now a soft target."

In the pages that follow, Houser disparaged liberals, blacks, women, gay people, and Fox News. After listing his favorite songs and movies, he itemized the "lies of the century," and his predictions for a "world financial collapse" that would leave only North Korea, Iran, Russia, and China in power.

As for the reasons for his actions, he joked.

"Just running an errand on my way home. I'm going to DizzKnee Land."
