A Senior Who Just Found Out He Has Cancer Gave An Incredible Speech To His Class

This is Jake Bailey, an 18-year-old student who holds the position of senior monitor (roughly equivalent to student body president) at his school in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Bailey was due to give a speech at a big awards ceremony on Wednesday, but found out last week he had an aggressive form of cancer and would die if he did not receive treatment within three weeks.

"They said, if you don't get any treatment within the next three weeks you're going to die. Then they told me I wouldn't be here tonight to deliver that speech."

Miraculously, Bailey was able to leave his hospital bed to deliver the speech he had written — and his rousing, inspiring words brought the house down.
