An 11-year-old boy was taken to a hospital in critical condition after a man allegedly shot him with a BB gun in retaliation for a previous BB gun shooting involving his young son, the Associated Press reported.
Albert Clark, a 31-year-old resident of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, was arrested and faces charges of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and tampering with evidence, according to court records. On Monday, he remained in Allegheny County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bond.
According to the AP, Clark confronted the 11-year-old at a school playground on Sunday and shot twice. One of the pellets lodged in the boy's heart, WPXI reported, and he was taken to a hospital for surgery.
When Clark was later taken into custody, he told authorities he gave the gun away to a passerby after the shooting. He also told police he was upset that the 11-year-old had on Saturday shot Clark's 5-year-old son in the butt and attempted to shoot at him again on Sunday.
