Smith, who plays the acid-tongued Dowager Countess (aka everybody's favorite character), made the revelation in an interview with Britain's Sunday Times newspaper.

"They say this is the last one, and I can't see how it could go on," she told the paper.


"I mean, I certainly can't keep going. To my knowledge, I must be 110 by now. We're into the late 1920s."


With the show's storyline having begun in 1912, the Dowager certainly has a had a good run. Let's just say that viewers probably shouldn't expect the character to leave the show by riding off into the sunset to Los Angeles to start an acting career in some sort of Downton spin-off.


The show's creator, Julian Fellowes, told the New York Times he can't say whether or not the show will have a seventh season.
