Sissy, a 10-year-old miniature schnauzer, traveled almost two miles by herself to find her owner at a Cedar Rapids, Iowa hospital.
A dog in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, left her home last weekend and managed to track down her owner at a hospital almost two miles away.
Sissy, a miniature schnauzer, was reunited with owner Nancy Franck at Mercy Medical Center, where Franck was recovering from a cancer-related surgery, the Associated Press reported.
The dog sniffed her way through the sliding doors into the hospital's lobby, where staff found her.
A security guard used the information on her tags to call Franck's husband, who had been searching frantically since Sissy went missing several hours hours before.

The unexpected furry visitor brought a smile to Franck.
"I'm glad she thought of it," Franck told the AP.

The family still isn't sure exactly how Sissy found her way through 20 blocks on her own — she'd never run away before.
"She was on a mission," Sarah Wood, the Francks' daughter, told KWWL.
"She wanted to see Mom."
